Local Government - Still a boys' club?
While Western Australia’s population is approximately 50% men and 50% women, when it comes to local government, the latest FACTBase report released by the Committee for Perth has found that women are severely under-represented in the level of government closest to the community. The figures are even worse when the senior positions in local government such as Mayors, CEO’s, General Managers and Directors are examined.
