Committee for Perth CEO Marion Fulker welcomed the Premier’s vision announced today, saying at last Perth would have the amenities of a world-class city.

“Connecting the city to the river has long been identified as critical to Perth in fulfilling the potential of this wonderful natural asset,” she said.

“Opening up the north/south links down William and Barrack streets will help to truly connect the city to its best feature, the Swan River.

“We commend the State Government’s moves to eliminate blighted areas of Perth through the Northbridge Link project and the improvements to the Perth Cultural Centre. However, these projects cannot operate in isolation and must be part of a cohesive vision and work together in a meaningful way.”

The Committee for Perth strongly believes that arts and culture should be central to any vision for a future Perth to create diversity for a range of people and cultures.
