Perth's growing income inequality
While Perth weathered the challenges of the GFC better than any other Australian capital city, it did come at a cost, according to the latest FACTBase report released by the Committee for Perth. While people living in more affluent suburbs experienced a healthy increase in their annual income, residents in four times as many other areas didn’t earn enough money to match the average annual income for the Perth and Peel region of $86,352.
