This survey was developed by Ipsos for the Committee for Perth for the Get a Move On! project. The Get a Move On! Commuter Survey was conducted to understand Perth residents’ transport behaviour, motivations and preferences. In total, we spoke to 2,005 Perth metropolitan commuters across the five main methods of getting to work: car, train, bus, walking and cycling.

Key findings include:
  • 71% of Perth drivers believe it's more convenient to drive
  • 70% of Perth drivers believe it is faster than other options
  • 58% of train and 65% of bus commuters believe it is more cost efficient
  • 56% of train and 48% of bus commuters believe it's convenient
  • 87% of walkers and 96% of cyclists believe it provides health benefits
