Perth’s summer vibe is truly unique. Our relaxed and easy-going lifestyle is something we have long enjoyed. But we sometimes felt conflicted about this - being told this held us back from shaking our ‘big country town’ label and becoming a truly international city.

Debate has raged about what is needed to shake our laid-back approach and ‘liven up’ our city in order to attract droves of international tourists, investors and students.

This very issue was central to the Committee for Perth’s report published last year on Perth’s reputation - Boorloo Kworp ‘Perth is good’. It was the culmination of almost two years of research to understand what locals as well as those from elsewhere thought about Perth as a place to live, work, study, invest and visit.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Committee For Perth acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
