Kate Lamont has more than three decades of experience in the wine, food and tourism industry in Western Australia.

She works in the Lamont’s family business, an integrated food and wine business incorporating grape growing, wine production and sales, which produces over 60,000 bottles of Western Australian per annum. Lamont’s operates restaurants in the Swan Valley, Margaret River, Perth City and Cottesloe and bases a European wine importing business from the Cottesloe location.

As one of Western Australia’s most successful chefs, Kate has written bestselling cooking books with sales in excess of 35,000 and has contributed to various books, magazines and newspapers including The Weekend Australian and The West Australian. She is a regular guest presenter on ABC radio.

Kate was appointed to Tourism Western Australia’s Board of Commissioners in May 2004 and then as it’s Chairman in September 2006 to 2012. Kate was appointed to the board of Tourism Australia in July 2009 and was deputy Chairman from 2010 to 2015.

She has served as a Director of the Committee for Perth and CCIWA.

Ms Lamont, a passionate and activist defender of the Perth Swan Valley’s grape and equestrian tourism benefits in the face of encroaching urbanisation, has also chaired the Swan Valley Planning Committee for seven years.

Her personal motto is “Never, Never, Never, Never Give Up!”

Evan is an economist with extensive experience in federal and state advocacy. A recognised tourism industry leader, Evan joined Tourism Council WA in May 2011 following five years at the Tourism & Transport Forum as National Policy Director.

Evan was previously an elected official with the Community & Public Sector Union, directing federal advocacy campaigns on immigration, customs and quarantine issues and in the commercial broadcasting and telecommunications sectors.

Dale Tilbrook is a Wardandi Bibbulmun woman from the South West of Western Australia.

Her tourism journey started in 1996 with a small company with her brother Lyall Tilbrook, making returning boomerangs and other artefacts. They were proud to awarded an Olympic swing tag for the sale of their boomerangs during the 2000 Games in Sydney.

In 1998 Dale and Lyall opened their first Aboriginal gallery and gift shop in the Swan Valley. This quickly grew in popularity and Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery moved to larger premises in the Swan Valley in 2004.

Dale often jokes that the beautiful artwork is only a device to entice people into the gallery, so that she can talk to them about local Aboriginal culture, history and language. Education is an important part of the cultural experience offered at Maaalinup. As well as offering talks and activities in the gallery, Dale also works extensively with students of all ages through school incursions, Kings Park education programmes and corporate groups. She is a sought after cultural awareness speaker.

But the gorgeous display of authentic Aboriginal art and exquisitely different hand painted giftware is testament to her passion for Art and for supporting local Aboriginal artists. Dale has created an online gallery where you can view and purchase the work.

Bush tucker is another specialty at Maalinup with tastings from the range always available. Bush Tucker Talks and Tastings are very popular. Dale is a member of the Bush Food Association of Western Australia and the Swan Valley and Eastern Region Slow Food Convivium. She is often called on to talk about or is interviewed about Australian native food products.

While they no longer have their original artefact workshop, Lyall still makes returning boomerangs for sale in the gallery and Dale and Lyall continue to work together creatively on a range of handmade soaps and skincare products, many of which utilise botanicals, oils and extracts from Australian native plants.

Dale’s previous background is in buying, merchandising and marketing in department store groups in the UK and Australia. She also has experience in accommodation, functions and catering.

Kevin is the Chief Executive Officer of Perth Airport Pty Ltd, the operator of Perth Airport. He has been involved in operational and commercial roles in both hub and regional airports for more than 13 years in the United Kingdom and Australia. Prior to joining Perth Airport in July 2016, Kevin held the position of Chief Executive Officer of North Queensland Airports which operate Cairns and Mackay Airports, where he was responsible for implementing a growth strategy for both airports. He also spent nine years with the British Airport Authority (BAA), and was Managing Director at Edinburgh International Airport. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), Masters of Business Administration, a Masters of Science and is a Chartered Engineer.

Marion Fulker is the inaugural Chief Executive of the Committee for Perth Ltd. She took up the position in January 2007 having previously been the Executive Director of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) WA Division. Marion is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia and holds an MBA from Curtin Graduate School of Business. Aside from leading the Committee, Marion is the Chair of the Conservation & Parks Commission and a professional representative on the state’s Infrastructure Coordinating Committee. As an evidenced based organisation, Marion has led a number of landmark Committee for Perth research projects which have resulted in reports such as:- • Towards a Bright Future which outlines two scenarios for Perth as a region of 3.5 million people • A Cultural Compact, the 10 year challenge which articulates a vision to make arts and culture part of the everyday lives of Western Australians • Filling the Pool a gender equality report aimed at growing the number of women participating and progressing in corporate life in Perth • Fremantle as a reconnected city which details the opportunities for the future of the Fremantle region. • Get a Move On! the Committee’s outlines a mobile and connected future for the region • Bigger & Better Beyond the Boom the Committee’s current project focused on greater economic diversity for Perth & Peel. In the past decade, Marion has undertaken study tours throughout the USA, Europe, Australasia and the UK to examine how cities work. Her research focus has been on a range of topics including inner city vibrancy, urban renewal and public transport. In 2015 Marion was named as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence and in 2016 was the winner of the WA Telstra Business Woman of the Year in the For Purpose & Social Enterprise category. This year she was named as a finalist in the Western Australia of the Year Awards. Marion’s opinions on Perth’s future are regularly sought by government, industry and the media.
