Russell has an extensive background in the aged care and community services sector, holds degrees in education, science and a master’s in business administration, is a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

He was previously the Chief Executive of Aged Care Channel, overseeing operations in Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland and New Zealand. Prior to this role, Russell was Chief Operating Officer of Australian Home Care, a leading provider of home based care to people with disabilities in NSW and Victoria, a General Manager of BaptistCare NSW and ACT, and Executive Director of Churches of Christ Care in Queensland.

He was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of Baptistcare WA in April 2017.

Julie McKay is a Partner and the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at PwC, with responsibility for leading the firm’s internal D&I transformation as well

as supporting clients to adopt inclusive practices that realise the benefits of diversity.

Prior to commencing with PwC, Julie spent 9 years as the Executive Director of UNWomen Australia,working across Government, the private sector and

the community to identify the barriers to gender equality and challenging the laws, policies and attitudes that perpetuate inequality. Julie has represented

UNWomen Australia and the Australian Government at numerous United Nations Conferences and UN Missions and has a detailed understanding of

global policy responses and best practice regarding equality and inclusion.

For the last four years, Julie has also served as the Gender Advisor to the Chief of the Australian Defence Force (CDF) and in that role spent time across

Australia understanding military culture and addressing the structural and attitudinal barriers to gender equality within Defence. In addition to

supporting the CDF’s response to the Broderick Review into unacceptable behavior in the military, Julie led a review of the recruitment process which has

resulted in substantial changes to the recruitment model. She has worked with senior leaders to design their diversity and inclusion strategies and

associated targets and continues to play an advisory role to the CDF and Chiefs of Service on strategy implementation.

In 2014 Julie completed a Churchill Fellowship studying the experience of mining, engineering and technology companies in supporting women into

senior leadership positions, comparing the experiences of companies in the US,UK, Sweden and Chile. She understands the need for companies to

lead societal change, but also the need to support individual employees who might be the ‘pioneers’ in their role or industry. Julie has worked with

leadership teams, employee networks and individuals to build understanding of the benefits of inclusion and how this can be achieved for all.

Julie convenes the Queensland Male Champions of Change, supporting the CEOs of some of Queensland’s largest employers to deliver on their

diversity commitments.

Julie is the Chair of the Women’s College at the University of Sydney and a Board Member of Brisbane Girls Grammar School.
