FACTBase Talks

At this final FACTBase Talks for 2021, FACTBase researcher Paul J. Maginn PhD will provide an overview of FACTBase Bulletin 77 and its key findings, and present insights on how the COVID-19 pandemic and related restrictions had an impact on community mobility to key places.

This FACTBase is a follow on from our Future of Work project and explores retail/recreation, transit stations, workplaces and residential mobility within the Greater Perth region.

FACTBase Researcher

Paul J. Maginn PhD is Associate Professor of Urban and Regional Planning at The University of Western Australia, where he has been based since 2007. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Australia’s leading urban studies journal, Urban Policy and Research, and was co-convenor of the Australasian Cities Research Network (www.acrn-soac.com.au), the academic network that oversees the biennial State of Australasian Cities Conference, from 2017 to 2021. He is co-editor of the forthcoming book Suburbia in the 21st Century: From Dreamscape to Nightmare? (Routledge) and the PIA (National) award winner for Cutting Edge Research for his 2015 co-edited book (Sub)Urban Sexscapes: Geographies and Regulation of the Sex Industry (Routledge).
