Stuart Crockett

Stuart is currently Strategic Counsel for CGM Communications' trade and investment communications practice as well as CEO and Founder of two way International Trade and Investment Execution services company, International Channel Partners (ICP). Stuart brings exceptional regional networks and more than 30 years of public and private sector experience to the role.

Stuart joined CGM after his most recent role as the Government of Western Australia’s Commissioner to Greater China (2017-2021). During this time, Stuart lived in Shanghai and was responsible for managing all elements of WA’s international trade, investment and cultural exchange activities with China.

Stuart has specialist expertise in identifying private and government investment opportunities for Chinese organisations in Western Australia and developing market entry strategies for WA export companies in China.

Before taking up this role, Stuart held the position of Executive Director – International Trade and Investment for the WA Government’s Department of State Development, then Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, for five years. His duties included managing overseas offices in China, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore and India.

Prior to this, Stuart held roles within the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) including Trade and Investment Commissioner Los Angeles and State Director for Western Australia.

Stuart’s experience and accomplishments within the public sector make him highly respected across the public service, as well as both sides of politics.

Stuart has also held senior positions in a number of private companies, including start-up life science company Alosca Technologies and global trading organisation Craig Mostyn & Co.

Stuart holds a Bachelor of Business double-majoring in marketing and management from Edith Cowan University, a Diploma in Export Management from the Australian Institute of Export and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Perth US Asia Centre – Indo Pacific executive development program.
