As Chief Economist, Ben oversees Knight Frank’s team of property research and consulting professionals, spanning all states and sectors. He is an experienced property economist and market commentator, having spent ten years in London working in a range of global and regional research roles. Ben has a deep understanding of macroeconomic and real estate investment trends across all the major asset classes and he is also an expert on global office markets and the changing dynamics influencing the workplace. He began his career as an economist and policy adviser at the Federal Department of Treasury.

Partner, Knight Frank

Ian Edwards is a Partner of Knight Frank in Perth and sits on the Knight Frank Perth executive board as a Joint Head of Office Leasing. Ian’s role at Knight Frank centers on leasing major office assets for both private and institutional clients as well as providing strategic asset management consultancy for major clients. Much of Ian’s time is taken up with new office developments, including advising clients what and where to build, appointing and briefing legal teams and working closely with owners and development managers to develop office buildings which will be sought after by tenants. He then secures suitable tenants, negotiates the commercial terms and works with all parties to produce the necessary documentation required. Ian is currently working with several major office building developers in Perth to secure suitable anchor tenants. Ian has been recognised by Knight Frank as the highest office leasing fee earner in Australia on multiple occasions. Career highlights include leasing 14,000 sqm at 226 Adelaide Terrace (entire building), leasing 24,000 sqm to Chevron at QV1 and pre-committing Bankwest to the Raine Square project, where Bankwest leased the entire office building of some 44,000 square metres.

WA Head of Institutional Sales, Knight Frank

Nick Charlton is the WA Head of Institutional Sales at Knight Frank Australia and part of the National Institutional Sales Team. Nick actively advises Institutions, syndicates, offshore groups and high net worth individuals in the acquisition and disposal of property assets. Before moving to Australia Nick’s experience for a number of years was institutional sales in mainland Europe as well as three years in SE Asia based in Malaysia.
