Perth's Reputation Survey Results
We invite you to join us at our next Perth in Focus luncheon where Sally Braidwood, Director, Australia and New Zealand, Ipsos Corporate Reputation will be presenting the results of the Perth's Reputation Survey.
Recommendation one from the Committee for Perth's Bigger and Better Beyond the Boom: Perth's Pathway to Prosperity report was to develop the inaugural investment, engagement and attraction strategy and associated brand to promote Perth as a place to invest, work and learn.
To bring action to that recommendation, Hashtag Perth is the Committee's latest major project that aims to reposition the region by enhancing its reputation and develop strategies to grow the economy, create jobs and increase the region's prominence in the global competition for skilled workers, investors, students and visitors.
A key research input to the project is a survey of residents in WA, other Australian capitals and people overseas to gain a greater insight into Perth's current reputation as a place to work, invest and learn.
Following Sally's presentation, there will be a panel discussion with industry experts to reflect on the results.
Meet our speakers and panellists
Sally Braidwood
Director, Australia and New Zealand, Ipsos Corporate Reputation
Sally joined Ipsos in 2014 and is the Director of the Ipsos Corporate Reputation Centre in Australia and New Zealand.
Through its Social Research Institute and Reputation Centre, Ipsos Public Affairs conducts strategic research to understand and manage issues, advance reputations, determine shifts in attitude and opinion, enhance communications and evaluate policy.
As a research consultant, Sally has the opportunity to work closely with public and private sector clients to ensure the voice of the public, and other key stakeholders, is represented in strategic planning and decision making across a range of areas including transport, infrastructure, housing, health, resources and energy.
Sally holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Business Research, a foundation which enables her to deliver strategic advice based on empirical evidence and sees her work closely with the boards and executive teams of public and private sector clients at a local, national and global level.
Kevin Brown
Chief Executive Officer, Perth Airport
Mr Brown commenced in the role of Chief Executive Officer of Perth Airport, the operator of Perth Airport, in July 2016.
Mr Brown has been involved in operational and commercial roles in both hub and regional airports for more than 15 years in the UK and Australia.
Prior to joining Perth Airport, Mr Brown held the position of Chief Executive Officer of North Queensland Airports, which operate Cairns and Mackay Airports, where he was responsible for implementing a growth strategy for both airports.
Mr Brown also spent nine years with the British Airport Authority (BAA) and was Managing Director at Edinburgh International Airport.
In 2017, Mr Brown was appointed to the Tourism Western Australia Board and is also a Council Member for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia.
Mr Brown holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), Masters of Business Administration, a Masters of Science and is a Chartered Engineer.
Daniel High
Acting Director of Economic Development and Activation, City of Perth
Daniel High is the Acting Director of Economic Development and Activation at the City of Perth, responsible for the economic development, international engagement, marketing and events, arts, culture, heritage and sponsorship teams at the City.
This involves undertaking initiatives in the portfolio to provide flow on activation, economic and cultural benefits for local business, residents, visitors and tourists within the City of Perth and the Greater Perth region.
Daniel has an extensive background urban revitalisation and place making projects having worked at the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority for over seven years. Project experiences include Elizabeth Quay, Scarborough, Midland Workshops and the highly regarded Perth Cultural Centre Regeneration.
Daniel has a strong background in economic development and investment attraction in a local government context as well as Smart City projects having been on the Board and Vice President of the Australian Smart Communities Association.
Daniel has a double degree in Commerce from Curtin University and has complete the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.
Gemma Davis
Consultant, Committee for Perth
Gemma Davis is a research, policy and strategic planning professional with 20 years of experience working in Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Ireland. Gemma is a consultant for the Committee for Perth and was previously employed by the Committee as Manager of Research and Strategy.
Gemma is currently a Director with e3Scientific Limited in New Zealand and is an Honorary Research Fellow with The University of Western Australia. Gemma authored major reports for the Committee for Perth including Towards a Bright Future, Get a Move On! and Perth's Pathway to Prosperity.
