The CEO's Study Tour

Throughout May and June, covering nine cities in 19 days, Marion was part of a delegation to Israel to examine technology and innovation and also visited Copenhagen, Oslo, Malmö, Edinburgh, Nottingham and London to further her research on these topics as well as public & active transport and gender equality.

  • Beginning in Copenhagen to explore spatial planning, green mobility planning, traffic innovation and transport.
  • In Malmö, the focus moved to waterfront renewal and social housing.
  • ‘Snowball’ Norway included briefings in Oslo by leading gender equality academics from both social sciences and business institutions.
  • Moving on to Edinburgh to review stage one of the newly implemented light rail system, Marion then visited Nottingham to ride stage two of the tram network.
  • In London, the focus was on transport as a tool for urban transformation and was particularly pertinent to Metronet.
  • Jerusalem & Tel Aviv was a six-day immersive experience focusing on technology and innovation in the region.

Marion will also discuss the findings from her recent trip to London to participate in the Australian British Infrastructure Investment Catalyst. The Catalyst focused on Crossrail, High Speed Rail and precinct development. Marion has returned with relevant insights from these different cities and has since been contemplating about what might work in Perth.

We look forward to sharing them with you.
