During 2011/12 we are undertaking a thought leading and collaborative eight part project Perth @ 3.5 Million and Beyond. The project will examine all of the major issues affecting Perth today and the big challenges and opportunities for the city in the future. It will facilitate debate and discussion about what we want Perth at 3.5 million and beyond to be and how we can best get there.

This Discussion Paper has been prepared by the Committee for Perth to articulate this change in its many forms and discuss how it has impacted on Perth’s population and economy as well as the city’s environment and lifestyle along with its culture and society.

The paper also aims to consider the change that has already taken place in Perth in the context of the challenges and opportunities the city currently faces and will face in coming decades. It uses this information to pose some ‘big questions’ for Perth, which seek to facilitate discussion on the direction that Perth should take in the future.
