About North Metropolitan TAFE

North Metropolitan TAFE (NMTAFE) plays a key role in economic development and community prosperity through skills training. Building West Australian workforce capability is a government commitment, maximising local jobs for local people in priority industries including Civil Infrastructure (METRONET); Mining, Direct Client Care Ageing and Disability (to support the NDIS); Industry 4.0, Cyber security and Robotics; and Creative Industries.

As Western Australia’s largest provider of vocational education and training, NMTAFE delivers skills for high-demand industries, to more than 30,000 students each year across ten Perth north metropolitan campuses.

NMTAFE’s Jobs and Skills Centres works with employers to identify skills gaps and plan development strategies to foster a skilled workforce, recruit and retain Aboriginal people and boost business productivity.

NMTAFE applies its knowledge and understanding of changing business needs and state-of-the-art training techniques to achieve its vision of ‘Transforming lives: strengthening industry and community'.

Why North Metropolitan TAFE has joined the Committee for Perth

At North Metropolitan TAFE we have delivered training in the city for more than 120 years. Our DNA is made up of the earliest days of the Perth Technical School and Perth Technical College.

Today, as the State’s largest provider of vocational education and training, we are training Western Australians for jobs in the high-demand industries that continue to fuel our city and our State.

Membership of the Committee for Perth provides us with a unique opportunity to continue this contribution to the rich fabric of our city, with a view to ensuring that Perth remains a vibrant cultural city to live, work, visit, study and invest in.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Committee For Perth acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
