About South West Group

The South West Group is an alliance of Local Governments in SW metropolitan Perth. The purpose of the Group is to provide a forum for member councils to unite and collaborate for the benefit of the broader region.

The three strategic program areas of the Group are:

• advocacy
• investment attraction and business development
• research and analysis.

Part of the Group’s role is to advocate to the State and Federal Governments and to represent the Region’s perspectives and interests in the development of policy and infrastructure priorities. This may include providing submissions to draft policy and strategy papers, developing Infrastructure Australia submission, or developing proof of concepts in an effort to build awareness of a proposed project.

The South West Group sees value in working with other respected bodies in order to advance its advocacy positions or to deliver projects. As a longstanding and highly respected organisation, we see the Committee for Perth as an ideal body to work with to ensure the Region’s views are better understood by the community, private sector and other levels of Government.
