Queen’s Birthday Honours List

The Committee for Perth would like to congratulate Chief Executive Officer Marion Fulker on her appointment as a Member (AM) in the General Division as part of the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for significant service to urban planning and infrastructure development.

As the Committee’s inaugural CEO, Marion has overseen the publishing of more than 140 research reports that have provided insight into Perth’s economy, mobility, gender equality and reputation. To provide best practice learnings for Perth, Marion has undertaken on-the-ground research into almost 40 cities globally with a focus on governance, infrastructure, planning, urban renewal and cultural vibrancy.

The Committee’s Chair, Kate Lamont AM said, “On behalf of the organisation and Board Directors, I’m pleased to congratulate Marion on this outstanding achievement. This well-deserved recognition reinforces Marion’s status as a leading expert in the future development of cities and demonstrates her commitment to infrastructure and governance.”

Her expertise in this space has seen Marion become involved with various expert panels to advise government on city development and growth. She is a Board member of Infrastructure Australia and a member of Infrastructure WA’s Advisory Group.

Ms Lamont AM added, “This award further confirms Marion’s reputation as a thought leader in the field - her experience and strategic thinking will be key in supporting Perth’s growth as it develops into a region of 3.5 million people.”

The Queen's Birthday 2021 Honours List was announced on 14 June 2021. The Governor-General David Hurley said this year’s list includes the highest ever percentage of women (44 per cent) recognised through the General Division of the Order of Australia.
